The Federation of Bangladesh Chambers of
Commerce and Industries (FBCCI) president Jashim Uddin has congratulated
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for the achievement of the country's 100pc
electrification.
The Premier officially announced the cent percent electrification while
inaugurating the country's biggest Payra 1320 MW thermal power plant with
ultra super critical technology today.
Jashim Uddin said the Prime Minister had promised to illuminate every house
with electricity, said a press release here.
She has fulfilled the promise in the year of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur
Rahman's birth centenary and the golden jubilee of the country's
independence.
Prime Minister's far-sighted plan and successful implementation brought
Bangladesh under the 100pc power coverage, the FBCCI president added.
As a result of electrification, the economic activities in the remote areas
are developing, he said.
He further said local employment has been created through new business
ventures resulting all sector's development including education, health,
agriculture and industry and the lifestyle of the people in the backward
areas has also changed.
At the same time, this initiative has paved the way for balancing the
country's overall development, he added.
The FBCCI President firmly believed that the other development goals of the
government would be implemented on time just like the achievement of 100pc
power coverage and Bangladesh would emerge as a developed country by 2041.
